How fast can a helper contact the parents if something happens to a child while at sports class?

Today was one of these days when I had to realize how important it is that children carry an Id with them while away from home. I was at a one hour sports class with my daughter. I always stay with her since one hour flies by very fast and it's not worth it for me to go home during this time.

Other moms do it. Unfortunately today was one of these days when a little boy got hurt and the mom wasn't around. He tripped and fell on his chin. It started bleeding very hard. Another mom and I jumped in and took over from the coach to try to calm the child down and do first aid with wipes and tissues while we were looking around to see if the mom comes running... But no mom in sight... We managed to have someone run to the reception and tell them to call the parents. BUT the only information the coach could provide about this child was his first name. I never really thought about this, but  when a facility looks for emergency contacts, they need to know the child's last name to look up the parent's information - Imagine this happens to your child! 

You think the facility is prepared, you provide them with all kinds of paperwork and write down all the emergency contacts,  but in a situation like this they can't access it because they don't know your last name!!
